Hay and Jasper Morrison's Outdoor Market Collection: A Stylish Camping Adventure (2026)

Get ready for a unique collaboration that will spark your interest! A designer's dream team has come together to create an extraordinary camping collection.

British designer Jasper Morrison, renowned for his 'super normal' approach to everyday design, has joined forces with the innovative design brand Hay. Together, they've crafted over 30 remarkable objects, each tailored for the great outdoors.

But here's where it gets intriguing: the collection draws inspiration from nautical stripes, a nod to samples Morrison discovered during his travels in Majorca and the Pyrenees. Imagine a camping trip with a stylish, seafaring twist!

Rolf Hay, co-founder of Hay, explains that this collaboration with Morrison's London-based shop resulted in the 'Outdoor Market' collection. It's a diverse range, featuring foldable lounge chairs, a fish-shaped BBQ, and even a tent-shaped canopy. The collection was unveiled this week at the MoMA Design Store in New York City.

Morrison, who had already been crafting some of these objects on a smaller scale in his shop, saw a natural synergy with his studio's existing projects. "From the beginning, we aimed to create a collection that was useful, characterful, and affordable, just like the items we stock in our shop," he shared with Dezeen.

The collection's aesthetic is centered around a relaxed palette of red, blue, and white striped textiles, stainless steel cookware, and a light beech wood for the foldable furniture. Other innovative items include a stainless steel bottle carrier and a foldable sofa that can be conveniently stored in a large tote.

For Morrison, the design of practical, portable camping gear is a fascinating challenge. "I'm drawn to the constraints of practicality, folding, and lightness in outdoor equipment. It's a whole different side of design that we often overlook as residential interior designers," he explained.

Both Hay and Morrison admit they're not avid outdoorsmen, but they envision their products being used for everyday outdoor activities, like a simple day at the park. Hay also highlights the influence of the pandemic's outdoor boom, where outdoor aesthetics began to infiltrate fashion, design, and pop culture.

And this is the part most people miss: the collaboration doesn't end here. Both Hay and Morrison express their enthusiasm for designing more outdoor equipment in the future. Morrison even teases, "Why not a frying pan?"

In the meantime, Hay has collaborated with ASICS on a collection of suede-and-leather trainers, while Morrison designed cherry wood cutlery for Puiforcat. These designers are certainly keeping themselves busy!

So, what do you think of this unique camping collection? Are you ready to embrace the outdoors with style? We'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
