Imagine Cathy wearing striking red garters! While this fashion choice likely wouldn’t have resonated with the characters of Emily Brontë’s era, it perfectly captures the bold spirit of Margot Robbie.
Following the innovative approach that Robbie and her stylist, Andrew Mukamal, adopted during the press tour for Barbie, it's no surprise that they had exciting plans for promoting Wuthering Heights. The pair has collaborated with renowned fashion houses like Chanel, Thom Browne, and Schiaparelli, crafting custom outfits that echo the essence of Brontë's works—albeit with a modern twist. However, their latest reveal is potentially their most impressive yet, showcasing a remarkable piece from the fashion archives.
The standout look comes from John Galliano’s iconic Spring 1992 collection for Dior.

At the London photocall for Wuthering Heights, Robbie dazzled in a striking ensemble that exuded both elegance and drama. Channeling the vibe of a character that might emerge from a crossover between Penny Lane and Empress Joséphine, she wore a sweeping toile coat adorned with delicate pale pink shearling at the cuffs and neckline. Underneath, she embraced the runway aesthetic with a black micro miniskirt paired with a garter belt that attached to bold red thigh-high stockings, accented with a charming pink ribbon.
Robbie did make one notable departure in her shoe choice; rather than donning the more covered, two-toned footwear that Helena Christensen showcased on the runway for the "Napoleon and Joséphine" collection, her stylist selected sleek pale silver pumps with pointed toes.
Just as the costumes in the film break the mold of traditional design, Margot Robbie is reimagining how to embrace a character through her unique styling choices.
